Mr. P say: Yes, and I don't blame anyone who has not seen anything for believing there is no such thing as ghosts because I can't figure it out either.
I suppose I've seen quite a lot now. Always fascinating, and I want to find out more about them. Part of it seems like an ability to sense and see them, certainly when it comes to talking to active spirits. Other times it is them that make themselves known.
I don't know the method or what actually causes it, but I have seen places and people that have existed hundreds or even thousands of years ago. It cannot be imagination because when I do the research it matches what I have seen.
Most involve deaths, fear or pain, or at least are in an area where one of the people are experiencing this. Others just seem to be tied to an item or want to be there. Some don't even fit this theory.
For example one of the closest sightings I have seen was when stepping out of a shop in town and in front of me was a complete horse-drawn herse, with 4 horses, driver, a flatbed black cart with a small coffin under a heavy black blanket. The horses were close enough to feel their heat and see them wearing short black feather plumes on their heads and tabbards on their backs that were black but with a thin silver band on them.
It was stopped outside a pub facing downhill. When I researched the type it was similar to early herses of the 1800's, but also looked like it may have been used by the brewery mid-week and just used for funerals when needed. The road it was on used to come from the Church on the East side, and these roads are known as "Corpse roads". The road has been altered after WW2, but in the 1800's was direct from the church.
