What sort of String would be ideal to pull a Mousetrap Car forward

I have relatively thick Nylon Rope all the way to very thin Waxed Floss.

Is it better to use something thick or something thin to pull the mousetrap car?

Bear in mind that my car is very very small!

Use the thinnest string available that will handle the stress.
