What possible way for a human to go faster than the speed of light

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-05-09] [Hit: ]
A warp drive would be some machine that moves space instead of moving objects through space. Again, I should note that the creation of a warp drive is practically impossible. If a civilization had the energy required to use warp drives or create wormholes than they would easily be able to send spaceships at relativistic speeds (very close to the speed of light). The closer one gets to the speed of light the slower time moves. That means crossing the galaxy at 99.......
any theory's or suggestions. please dont just say "you cant". please say with good solid info of your opinions and suggestions and theory's thanks.

Nothing can go faster than the speed of light. There is no other answer to give.

One could possibly cross the vast distances in a very short period of time by using a wormhole, but never would one travel faster than light. Wormholes are like shortcuts between two points. The speed limit for both paths is the same. One path is simply shorter than the other.

I should also note that even though the existence of wormholes is physically possible we could not hope to create one.

I like your curiosity though. I appreciate these sorts of questions. They are so much more entertaining than the constant flow of homework questions.

There is also the possibility of moving via a warp drive. That means crossing the galaxy at 99.9999999...% the speed of light would be possible within a single human lifetime despite it taking thousands of years to do it.

Sorry. The only time something can go faster than the speed of light is in science fiction stories (or unless you believe in the tachyon, but that's a wholly different (confusing) case altogether).

-
You can't. Sorry you don't like it, but that's the answer.

I'm sorry, I don't live in your fantasy land.
