What is the equation fore a torque of a couple

torque is similar to moments as they both measure in same units Nm(newton metres)
but torque is when u have to force that are equall and in anti parallel eg steering wheel when you are driving with 2 hands 1 hand goes in one direction and the other goes in opposite direction inwards.

torque = one of the forces(they are equall anywhere) x the distance apart form one force to another
eg the distance apart of your two hands

-
τ = F × r = Iα = dL/dt

τ = net torque
F = net force (the cross product means ONLY the tangential component)
r = distance from where the force is applied to the axis of rotation
I = moment of inertia
α = angular acceleration
L = angular momentum

It's very similar to F=ma, only for things that are rotating rather than accelerating in a particular direction.
