0=23.6^2 +2*a*0.......
A car traveling 85 km/h strikes a tree. The driver finally comes to a stop after traveling 0.8m. What was the average acceleration of the driver during the collision? Please try and explain the process if possible to get the answer

-
use vf^2=v0^2+2ad

vf=final velocity =0
v0=initial velocity =85km/h = 23.6m/s
a=acceleration
d=distance traveled

0=23.6^2 +2*a*0.8

a=-348m/s/s

the minus sign indicates slowing down
