figure skater B has a mass of 70.1 kg. the magnitude of the acceleration of figure skater B is ______ m/s^2..........
figure skater A has a mass of 44.9 kg and pushes figure skater B away from herself with an acceleration of 3.5 m/s^2. figure skater B has a mass of 70.1 kg. the magnitude of the acceleration of figure skater B is ______ m/s^2..... if someone could explain this with the answer, thanks

The sum of forces before equals the sum of forces afterwards.

The sum of forces before equals zero.

The sum afterwards equals zero.

F=ma

f= ma = 44.9*3.5 = 157.2 N

The other skater is going in the opposite direction with the same force.

157.2 = 70.1* a

solve for a and you get a= 2.2 m/s/s in the opposite direction
