A paranormal story plz read no jokes

a friend of my moms was telling me about a creature she saw about 20 years ago, she said that her daughter was outside with friends playing behind their apartment complex the daughter was about 10 the time, she was playing with friends and her mom went and got them mcdonalds, there was a little bridge that went over a pond and thats were they were playing, it was about 3 or 4 of them, they all got big macs and were eating except for my moms friends daughter, ( we'll call her shelly) shelly left her big mac on the bridge abd continued playing, she heard a splash and turned and looked and saw what looked like a small upright standing lizard it grabbed her big mac and dove into the water, shelly then went and told her mom, her mom didnt believe her, shelly said, go back to mcdonalds and get another big mac so they did and they brought it to the same spot , they put it on the bridge and backed away then the next thing you know it came out of the water and grabbed the big mac but before it went back into the water it turned and looked at them almost like it was saying thank you

this happened in south carolina a few weeks before hugo hit, and my moms friend never saw the creature again after hugo hit, i just want to know if anyone anywhere has seen anything similar, my moms friend seems to think that the storm might have killed it

Well this isn't actually paranormal. There have been many reports of things like this in places like that, so I believe. Maybe the storm killed it or washed it away, yeah.
