You drive a car 7h at 47km/h, then 7 h at 63km/h. what is your average velocity

t4),are the velocities and respective times.In the given problem there are only two time periods which are equal to each other.so find your distance and your time.and for your distance, remember the distance formula?......
I find these questions very hard !

-
Average velocity is total distance divided by time.

329 km + 441 km = 770 km

v = s/t = 770 km / 14 h = 55 km/h

-
Since the time periods are equal the average is (47 +63) / 2 = 55 km/h.
------------------------
Average is total distance/ total time = 7( 47 + 63) / 14 = 55 km/h
===================

For the one who has thumbed down my answer :

Suppose that (v1, t1), (v2, t2), (v3, t3), (v4, t4), are the velocities and respective times.

Average velocity is {v1t1+ v2t2 + v3t3 + v4t4} / {t1 + t2 + t3 + t4}

If time periods are equal then the above reduces to
t (v1+ v2 + v3 + v4 } / 4 t =(v1+ v2 + v3 + v4) / 4
-------------------------
In the given problem there are only two time periods which are equal to each other.
Hence the answer is (v1+ v2) /2

-
V=D/T
so find your distance and your time.
well for time youd add 7 + 7 and that'd give you a total of 14 hours
and for your distance, remember the distance formula?
your distance formula is d= v*t
so you have your velocity and times which are 7 * 47 PLUS 7 * 63 = 770
now you have both your total time and total distance. now divide them!
770/14 = 55.
so 55 km/h is ur answer!
