Proper significant digits please.F - F_fric = ma = 2.0 x 3.0 = 6.F_fric = 2.F = 6.......
Calculate the work done by the applied force accelerating a 2.0 kg object at 3.0 m/s^2 over a distance of 4.0 m if there was a 2.5 N frictional force of resistance. How much work was done by the frictional force?
Proper significant digits please.

Resultant force is mass x acceleration:

F - F_fric = ma = 2.0 x 3.0 = 6.0 N

F_fric = 2.5 N

Rearrange and input F_fric:

F = 6.0 + F_fric = 6.0 + 2.5 = 8.5 N

Work done is force x distance, input d=4.0 m and F=8.5 N:

W = Fd = 8.5 x 4.0 = 34 J

Hope this is useful.

work done by friction = F_fric x d = 2.5 x 4.0 = 10 J
