Is your house more likely to get struck by lightening when right next to a train track

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-06-28] [Hit: ]
metal or plastic; everything is equally positively charged by induction when the opposite charge is found in the cloud by friction of the fast rising air.Metal doesnt attract the lightning, it simply leads it better, once it happens.......
Ours is right beside the main line and it has started thundering and lightening so i am getting as bit freaked out as i am home alone.
Please advise. :/
Thanks.

I don't see why it would. The ligthning takes the shortest path between the clouds and the ground, this being the highest objet on the ground. It doesn't matter if it is wood, metal or plastic; everything is equally positively charged by induction when the opposite charge is found in the cloud by friction of the fast rising air.

Metal doesn't attract the lightning, it simply leads it better, once it happens.
