did they have their eyes on the sides of their head? same with sharks
typically predator animals have both on the front
wolves, tigers, lions, humans, etc are all predators and have eyes on the front of the face
to help judge distance and aid in capturing prey.
So why do birds like eagles and hawks, t-rex's and sharks have them on the side?

If you look at images of a hawk from head-on you'll notice their eyes point forward enough that they have stereoscopic vision the same as humans, cats, or dogs. If you look up most any other kind of bird their eyes are at such a wide angle to one another that they do NOT have stereoscopic vision, explaining why they do the "head bob" thing when looking at an object in order to judge depth.

The eyes of T-Rex were positioned similarly to those of birds of prey. They are at a fairly wide angle, but the fields of view for each eye still intersect in front of them so they not only have full stereoscopic vision like we do, they actually have a far broader field of view giving them better peripheral vision.

Both birds of prey and T. rex have eyes that point forward. They do have stereoscopic vision.
