A bug ol' nasty bug was in my room last night. It looked like a centipede or millipede but seemed thicker. It was pretty fast too. Maybe it is just a centipede, but does anyone else have experience with this kind of bug? Do you know the name, how they get in, or how to prevent them? Sorry for the poor description and thanks in advance.

As you said it looked thicker, I thought of the house centipede Scutigera coleoptrata, well that and the fact they are commonly found in or near homes, as the name suggests...
