If two races of human beings can mate, what keeps us from procreating with animals

Report Abuse-There is only one species of human currently living on planet earth. This species is called Homo Sapien. What races are today are simply just different breeds of human just like in most other domesticated animals. Animals can only breed with those that have very similar DNA sequences, in other words they can only breed with members in there same Genus. That is why you can breed lions and tigers,......
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

Let's say that each number represented an island.
Maybe birds from island 4 cannot mate with birds from island 8, but birds from island 4 can mate with birds from 2,3,5,6. Birds from island 8 can mate with birds from 9,7,6 (because they are close to each other and breeding would occur more often).
So even though birds from island 6 can mate with birds from island 4 and island 8, the birds from 4 cannot mate with 8.

This is not for all birds, as some birds species move a lot and hence don't have this issue, but some birds don't move and breed with the 'others' as much and therefore this issue arises.

There is only one species of human currently living on planet earth. This species is called Homo Sapien. What races are today are simply just different breeds of human just like in most other domesticated animals. Animals can only breed with those that have very similar DNA sequences, in other words they can only breed with members in there same Genus. That is why you can breed lions and tigers, but not lions and domestic cats. You can tell tell if a species will breed with another by looking at its scientific name. eg Panthera leo (lion) and Panthera tigris (tiger) both share the same Genus Panthera but Panthera leo (lion) and Felis cattus (domestic cat) do not so they cannot breed. Humans can only breed with other humans in the same genus, this is why we were able to breed with Neanderthals because we belong in the same genus. However breeding with other species can make the offspring infertile if the DNA is not close enough, this is why you cannot breed a liger or a tigon, and is also the reason why some people are infertile or have mutated gametes today, because all those thousands of years ago we bred with Neanderthals.

There's only one race of human living on this planet. We can reproduce because we all have the same DNA sequences. We can't reproduce with other animals because they have different numbers and sizes of chromosomes.
