... how would your brain get out of your head?Id imagine youd die when that happened.Regardless whether you dont have a brain or are brain dead,......
As long as you have your brain stem? Can someone please explain how that would work in a simple and informative answer to a 15 year old?

Brain centres are arranged in such a way that lower centres like brain stem, medulla and pons are essential to survive. These regulate breathing and circulation. Centres higher to these like hypothalamus/thalamus are essential for reproduction feeding and other activities. Highest centres like cerebrum and cerebellum are associated with learning and coordination that provide you quality of life.

Well..... how would your brain get out of your head? I'd imagine you'd die when that happened. Regardless whether you don't have a brain or are brain dead, you absolutely cannot survive on your own without life support. Your brain tells your heart to beat, your lungs to breathe, and gives all the million other orders to your body every second that keeps it alive.

With only brain stem activity you would have only basic functions - thermoregulation, breathing, heart beat, blood pressure regulation, etc. you'd most likely withdraw from pain.
