and my average currently is 86 % going to go into aerospace engineering, what should i do after that to become an astrnaut? (i live in canada). and again is the demand for astronauts decreased to the point where there are no jobs, because i heard obama is not giving any money to the space programs so they are shutting down the psace program forever !-1) Obama is NOT shutting down the Space Program,......
im willing to work so hard to become one, im about 6ft2, and my average currently is 86 % going to go into aerospace engineering, what should i do after that to become an astrnaut? (i live in canada). and again is the demand for astronauts decreased to the point where there are no jobs, because i heard obama is not giving any money to the space programs so they are shutting down the psace program forever !

1) Obama is NOT shutting down the Space Program, but he IS cutting back the funding. This means that very little money will be left for MANNED flights. Other exploratory mission (using satellites and robots, for example) will take precedence.

2) Obama has no more than six years left as president (and hopefully only two). Other presidents may increase the funding.

3) Other countries have space programs, like China, Japan . . . .

IS it POSSIBLE to become an astronaut. YES

Is it PROBABLE that you will make it? NO

I can't believe your "astronaut" line, dude. You don't spell very well, and your grammar is nowhere on a par with a professional engineering tech. Fact of the matter is...if you were who you claim to be, you'd be too busy in training.

Also, there's that veiled "Obama cut the space program" whine I keep hearing from the politcal rants. If you were so "plugged in to the space program, you would already know that there are still all kinds of research opportunities aboard the ISS regardless of the NASA budget.

Your problem is you're not in the field. And you're not living in Canada, or you would care beans about Obama. You just want to fly a "Millenium Falcon" and/or bash Obama.

Your "space cadet question" is way too superficial, so cut out the "troll-ing".

I have always thought that "astronaut" is one of the most pretentious titles ever invented, astro comes from the greek for star whereas these guys barely get out of the earth's atmosphere, there are no benefits from putting men into space other than the " oh that's interesting" conclusions from spending billions of dollars

NASA is alive and well, but not launching any more people into space in the next few years. If you want to be an astronaut, try China or India instead.

-
Yes, it's possible. Missions to the ISS will continue.

-
Yes I want to become an astronaut also once I finish college.
Space is the future of Mankind my friend.

Yes
