The quality of Celestron SCTs has varied a lot over the years. I've no idea how old this one is, but it looks like it has a fairly flimsy tripod and fork mount. I would only consider it if I could test it first. I would probably give it a pass myself as I have the more powerful CPC1100 and the more portable NexStar 6SE. Your 8" Dob is probably better optically and easier to use, though maybe not as portable.

Its a pretty decent scope - most old Celestrons are decent - look it over thoroughly if you can (better yet, see if you can look it over during the day *and* view a few selected sky targets at night)
I might try to dicker the price to closer to $300, but your haggling skills may get tested.

If it's in good shape, that's a good price for it. Make sure the mirror isn't cracked, and that it's not too dirty. Find someone who's used a telescope to go check it out with you.

of course i will buy it it is a good scope enjoy stargazing
