Did i just see a planet

If so then what planet could this have been?Midwest 9:00pm.-The only naked eye planet visible around 9 p.m. is Saturn, very low on the western horizon; I doubt that this was what you saw.......
It was a small dot, really dim, i know it wasn't a star. I was outside smoking cig, looking at the stars :D And it was just a really small dot near a star. It didn't have the sparkling thing like a star does. :D Was this a planet? If so then what planet could this have been?

Midwest 9:00pm.

The only naked eye planet visible around 9 p.m. is Saturn, very low on the western horizon; I doubt that this was what you saw. What makes most planets stand out is that they are really bright compared to most of the stars, so if this was "a really small dot" it almost certainly wasn't a planet, just a faint star. There are thousnads of faint stars close to bright stars, so it's impossible to identify what you saw without more information, such as direction and altitude.

Could have probably been a star, who knows! Only astronomers like you! :D

You won't be able to discern a planet from a star with the naked eye. If it was faint and not reddish, it surely wasnt Jupiter Mars Venus Saturn. Mercury can be ruled out because it is so close to the sun which would already have set. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are all too small to see with the naked eye. In even a medium sized amateur scope Pluto and Neptune look like small stars. My guess is that you didn't see a planet. Also more info like direction, altitude, constellation would help.

If it was a local planet in our solar system yeah probably, but if you mean an exo-planet (out of the solar system) they are extremely hard to see even with really strong telescopes.

-
yeah probably, you can sometimes see mars or venus, occasionally mercury

-
Yeah prolly was... = D
