A&S: what is the definition of a moon

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-01-13] [Hit: ]
I would *guess* that a moon larger than its planet would never happen; however, if the planet were extraordinarily dense, while the moon was less dense (and contained a smaller amount of mass) - it would be possible. But *extremely* unlikely.........
can a moon be bigger than its planet?

thanks 10 points

It's a natural body that orbits a planet.

Moon is the proper name for a particular natural satellite that orbits the Earth. Perhaps you meant a natural satellite. It is a body that orbits a planet.

-
basically anything that orbits a planet, but I'm sure there are more requirements. but yes, a moon should be able to be bigger than its planet.

-
And actually, the scientific word is Satellite, not moon.

-
Well I don't know anything about the moon but I love your avatar it rocks.
