Can someone please help me with how to solve problems like these?-Basically you make a triangle with a base of2,000 km with an apex angle of 0.3°. To calculate the height H divide that angle by 2 and the base by 2 then thetan 0.15° = 1,......
"The distance to the Moon was measured a long time ago by using the idea of parallax. If the parallax angle measured is 0.3° for a displacement across the Earth of 2000 km, then the distance of the Moon is calculated to be what?"


Can someone please help me with how to solve problems like these?

Basically you make a triangle with a base of 2,000 km with an apex angle of 0.3°. To calculate the height H divide that angle by 2 and the base by 2 then the tan 0.15° = 1,000/H
H = 1,000/tan 0.15° = 382,000 km
382,000 km
