Whatever hoopla there was ended some time ago, I am happy say. It seems people are not so easily taken in by such outrageously false claims after all.

In order to get a straight answer, one must ask a straight question.

There is no hooplah about strange noises, except on YouTube. And even there, it is not "plastered" as one has to look for it.

All the YouTube videos that I have seen (and heard) so far are either outright hoaxes (people having fun participating in the 2012 hoax, or even actually believing in it) or noises that are picked up then distorted by cell-phone microphones. In one case, the guy filming does not realize that the sound gets louder when he approaches a transformer, then decreases when he moves away.

I also saw an obvious fake-TV-news item (it pretends that the was recorded from a real TV news report, but the background is about sports and the running news at the bottom are all fake).

And yes, Yahoo!Answers is for answers, but it is also for sarcasm and jokes. Although I would agree with those who say that most jokes (and instances of sarcasm) are not very good.

When you ask a question like that, what do you expect?

You're going to have to tell us what "hooplah" you're talking about, since the news isn't exactly full of stories titled "Strange Noises from the Sky that aren't Thunder!"

EDIT: Since you obviously don't take hints, I'll ask directly: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? There is nothing in the news regarding this, please provide links if you want us to answer you, because clearly nobody in this topic is aware of the phenomenon which you are referring to.

There is no hooplah, except on conspiracy websites and YouTube videos. Kids tend to get worked up about this sort of trivia in their tweets and Facebook comments to one another but if you stopped and asked an average adult about it, they wouldn't have a clue what you were talking about. There is a big, wide, adult world out there, you know, where this sort of pointless trivia largely gets ignored.
