How fast would we fly off into space if the earth stopped spinning suddenly

the air and the ocean! Thats more than twice thespeed of a tornado!Because of the curvature of the Earth the further north or south you are the speed slows. At NYC, for instance you would only be flung around at 780 miles an hour. At the north or south pole you wouldnt be flung anywhere,......
We wouldn't fly into space, we would remain where we are and everything would be the same except there would be no night and day. Your view of the rotation of the Earth is a little bit off, we are not kept on the surface of the Earth because of the speed of the rotation of the Earth, we are kept on the Earth because of the gravity that the Earth has, it isn't like when you swing a bottle of water fast in a loop, the water stays in, Earth is kind of like that but gravity is the biggest contributor of what keeps us on the ground. Why do you think that the atmosphere of the Earth doesn't fly out into the vacuum of space, it is because the gravity of the Earth keeps the atmosphere intact and it is what keeps us on the ground.

You wouldn't fly off into space since there is still gravity. But anything not bolted to the ground at the equator would, thanks to inertia, continue moving at 1000 miles an hour, including you, the air and the ocean! That's more than twice the speed of a tornado!

Because of the curvature of the Earth the further north or south you are the speed slows. At NYC, for instance you would only be flung around at 780 miles an hour.
At the north or south pole you wouldn't be flung anywhere, in fact you might not even lose your balance and remain standing.

We would all die. Tsunamis the size of mountains, earthquakes, and we would just be slung into our surroundings dieing instantly (assuming you are near building or tree if you hit it, it actually doesn't mater what you hit the organs in your body would be torn into pieces). That is assuming this could even happen which it can't. It's just like a car accident. You are riding in a car, and all of a sudden it hits a wall at over 1000 miles per hour, or more.

Edit: We would not fly into space btw

We wouldn't "fly off into space" at all.
