No, it didn't work this way. Had it been so, Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars should also be downgraded to dwarf planets if we compare them, too, with the 4 gas giants.
Pluto did not meet the third rule to be called planet. That is, it has not freed itself from other bodies in its orbit. In fact, Pluto'r orbit is within the initial zone of Kuiper's belt. Therefore, it is orbiting with other "companions".

YEARS ago and probably will be reclassified AGAIN. WHY do people KEEP DRAGGING this out of the closet over OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. Pluto HAS NO FEELINGS.
