Biology question on Sunlight?!?!?!

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-08-07] [Hit: ]
the photons from the sunlight give the energy to hydrolyse water and provide high energy electrons, NADP and ATP to drive the Kelvin cycle that fixes Carbon.......
Explain what is meant by the statement sunlight DRIVES the process of photosynthesis rather than radiant energy being converted into chemical potential energy?

-
photosynthesis can not be done without sunlight. it is essential for the leaves to consume sunlight, turning light enery into chemical energy making sugar (glucose).

-
Photosynthesis consists of two main steps. The light reaction and the dark reaction(Kelvin cycle). And their names are pretty self explanatory.

strictly speaking, the photons from the sunlight give the energy to hydrolyse water and provide high energy electrons, NADP and ATP to drive the Kelvin cycle that fixes Carbon.
