Can the control of an experiment be a pot

Im doing a experiment for biology on heat of evaporation
using three substances on medium heat.
Can the pot im using for the evaporation be my control ?

No, it's the water in the pot that is the control. And the chemicals (whatever they are) that you put in the other pots are your tests.
