The adult human brain is made up of over 100 billion (100,000,000,000) nerve cells (neurons). Each of these neurons may have between a few hundred to many thousands of dendrites and synapses coming into it from other neurons. It is a VERY complex network of brain cells. There are as many brain cells and neural connections as their are galaxies and stars in the Universe.
