Chromosomes are composed of DNA. Uncontrollable and abnormal divisions of chromosomes during mitosis is a characteristic of cancerous cells.
Cellular respiration produces ATP (high potential energy) molecules. No ATP, no energy for the cell to carry on metabolism; cell dies.
Cellular respiration , which produces ATP, occurs inside of the mitochondria.
