Why can't we imagine smells but we can imagine sounds and sights

Its useless without a brain so basically a brain is seeing the things. Same is the case with ears. When the input is given to the eyes or ears, it is translated by the brain into something it can understand. Like signals. These can be stored.......
Not really a serious question but just something I'd wondered since i was a kid.

Well you can get your answer here, smell concerns matter, while sight and sound concern energy. You can store energy, but you can not create matter like that. Matter is hardware, whereas sight and sound are softwares. Sights are made in the brain. I mean eye is only a tool for seeing. Its useless without a brain so basically a brain is seeing the things. Same is the case with ears. When the input is given to the eyes or ears, it is translated by the brain into something it can understand. Like signals. These can be stored. But when it comes to smell, the signals are created but later lost when the source is lost. They cannot be stored. The brain did store it into something it can understand, like you still remember the scent of roses but you are not smelling them. Hope this was helpful. Interesting question though. I really liked it. :)

Because its usually a dormant passageway in the brain. With practice anybody can learn to though.
