[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-05-06] [Hit: ]
92) x (v1) = 0.55 x (0.divide both sides by 0.you should get: v1= 0.283Liters,v1= 282.......
p1= 0.92 atm
p2= 0.55 atm
v2= 473.218 mL

answer in units of mL.

can you please explain this as well?
thank you!

boyles law

p1v1=p2v2

convert from mL to L (at first)

473.218mL/1000= 0.4732 Liters

subsitute values for boyle's law:

(0.92) x (v1) = 0.55 x (0.4732)

divide both sides by 0.92

you should get: v1= 0.283Liters, but you said you need mL so just multiply by 1000=

v1= 282.3 mL
