If I perform a titration with KHP and NaOH, will it matter whether I use 50mL of H2O instead of 30mL

. so the concentration will only change.........
If so, why? It looks to me like it shouldn't matter...

Thanks for help! 10 pts to best answer!

the only thing that will change is the concentration of OH-. the moles will remain the same but the concentration, based upon the volume added, will change.
you're rite, it doesn't matter.

If you carry out the titration by weighing a known mass of KHP into the Erlenmeyer, then it is of no consequence how much water you add to the flask. You are titrating the KHP, not the water. So you are quite correct in what you say. You do not even have to measure out the water volume - just add enough to dissolve the KHP, and to have a volume which is convenient to carry out the titration.

no it will not... because you are basically just diluting the solution ever more when you use 50ml instead of 30ml... so the concentration will only change... it doesnt really matter :)
