And that in turn would have caused the salt that was added to give off a red flame or color.Seems like you have an instructor that fancies being a magician or showperson.......
i mean alchemy and all that becuz my chemist teacher put sugar on a bowl and put some kind of powder or something idk i forgot(it may not be a powder) and 3-5 drops of some liquid(it was in a brown bottle inside a plastic bag and it looked hard to get)and after he put the drops on the sugar whatever a few seconds later it went on bright fire red and it lasted for couple of mins like idk 4-6mins.
if u can, and idk if there is a site that tells u what u can make out of stuff and what it produces??!??!?!!?.
i want to learn how to combine stuff to make things

This is my guess as to what your instructor actually did. Indeed, some sugar was put in the bowl. In addition, a powder that could have been a strontium or lithium salt was added. The drops of liquid was sulfuric acid, which is an acid and a potent dehydrator which would have gotten the sugar very hot. And that in turn would have caused the salt that was added to give off a red flame or color.

Seems like you have an instructor that fancies being a magician or showperson.
