?m=mass = 58.M=molar mass = 22.99 + 35.45 = 58.n = 58.......
Amount of substance in moles in:?
-58.5g sodium chloride (NaCl)

Thanks in advance, please show your method and working! Xx

n=m/M
n=number of moles = ??
m=mass = 58.5g
M=molar mass = 22.99 + 35.45 = 58.5

n = 58.5/58.5 = 1 mole

First let me point out that you can't have a negative amount of substance.

To solve, just divide the given amount by the molar mass of NaCl:

(58.5g) * (1 mol/ 58.4g NaCl) = 1.00 mol of NaCl
