The Moon has helium 3 all over it. I've never seen the movie you're referring to. But helium 3 is one resource that it has been proposed we should mine from the Moon. It's used in some of the proposed fusion reactors we may one day have. It's very rare on Earth, but is all over the Moon. This is a known fact.
