For a chemistry project I have to a have an example of a ionic compound (Used NaCl in Powerade) and a covalent compound in a drink. I can't seem to find a good example for a covalent compound. If you have an answer, please list the drink and the compound formula. =) thanks

Many cola drinks contain caffeine, an organic compound with covalent bonds. Other covalent compounds that you often see in cola drinks are citric acid, aspartame (diet cola), and potassium benzoate (a preservative that has both an ionic and covalent bonds).

Sucrose and fructose are both covalent compounds you might find in a beverage. Some others: caffeine, water, food coloring.
