-Firstly it is not reacting with oxygen gas .. it is reacting with chemically combined oxygen, so water isc formed and your textbook is right!......
write balanced chemical equation..plz i have consulted my textbook it says copper and water but i do remember that my teacher told me that whenever atomic hydrogen reacts with oxygen gas hydrogen peroxide is produced rather than water....i m confused that why my textbook is saying water and not hydrogen peroxide:/ plz help me out!
