An explosion in space without oxygene is impossible ?They claim the sun is an nuclear plant.......

An explosion in space without oxygene is impossible ?
They claim the sun is an nuclear plant.

answers:
billrussell42 say: nuclear power does NOT need oxygen.
-
roberto say: oxygene has no DNeuterium,,atomic fishing has no requirement for
com bust chin
-
Fred say: When a Star's nuclear atomic fusion energy pressure exceeds a Star's inward gravitational pull as it consumes it mass in fussion reactions and loss of radiant heat and ejections of solar storms the star explodes by that atomic reaction energy pressure … not requiring oxygen. Those explosions breifly produce more light than all the light generated by all stars in the Universe!
-
Jeffrey K say: An explosion is possible without oxygen. Fire is not.
The sun uses nuclear fusion to make light and heat. It is not fire.
-
Ronald 7 say: There are plenty of Explosions in Space that don't need Oxygen
Even on Earth, once Volcanic Magma meets Ice, the Explosion is Magnified by the Temperature Gradient
Our Sun is basically one continuous Nuclear Explosion
Supernovae happen when Iron attempts to Fuse
The whole Group of Periodic Elements get expelled, one by one
Oxygen and all
They go on to seed the rest of the Locallity
That is how Earth gained its Elements, And the Explosion began our local Dust Cloud spinning
The Biggest Explosion of all was the Big Bang of Course
We are still arguing about it
-
Sharon say: University of Michigan astronomer Subramanyan Chandrasekhar proved in 1950 how nuclear fusion in the Sun works, for which he won a Nobel Prize. Amazing any person claiming to be literate should not understand this seven decades later. The Sun, and other Main Sequence stars, in a series of steps combine four hydrogen atoms to make one helium atom plus a lot of heat and Energy. Oxygen has nothing to do with this
-
Lôn say: A nuclear, not an nuclear.

Do you think the sun is just regular fire? It would have burnt out millions of years ago.
-
oil field trash say: There are other oxidizing agent besides oxygen. Also come explosives carry their own oxygen.
-
Morningfox say: Nuclear explosions don't need oxygen.
-
rick29148 say: nope, just ones that need oxygen. atomic explosions DON'T require oxygen ...............
-
billrussell42 say: nuclear power does NOT need oxygen.

Who say: answer you picked is correct-

BUT a nuclear bomb going off is not actually an "explosion" - so its not actually relevant to your question

its just a HUGE release of energy

Its that release of energy that causes the air around it to expand HUGELY and thats the "explosion" you see

(the ONLY thing visible in a nuclear bomb going off is the big flash that lasts for a few milliseconds after that the "bomb" is all over

EVERYTHING after that is the result of the release of all the energy on the stuff (and air) around it

in space- no air and no stuff so no "explosion" - just the release of energy

If you had a space suit with good enough radiation protection you could stand pretty close to a nuclear bomb going off and not notice it
-
sparrow say: Oxygen is no the only thing that can cause an explosion.
Many other type of chemical interactions can.
-
james say: With out mass surrounding the explosion. Something to push in a wave out. It does not carry far.
-
anonymous say: its not an explosion jackoff, its a fusion
-
Riley say: Oh, look, another scientifically illiterate idiot.
-
Bill-M say: You need to go back to school and study Chemistry and Physics.
Nuclear explosions do not require oxygen. The sun is made up mostly of Hydrogen Gas with is being FUSED.
-
dash say: The sun is practically a giant nuclear power plant, yes. But unlike a car engine, a nuclear powerplant or the sun doesn't get energy through explosions. The sun gets energy by smashing together hydrogen atoms, which makes a jack ton of energy. Are explosions in space possible? Hollywood explosions with fire won't happen in space cuz there's no oxygen. But if you were to nuke the moon, there's going to be an explosion, yes.
-
CarolOklaNola say: Nuclear fusion does NOT require oxygen. The predominant process in low mass stars like the is the proton proton chain reaction which fuses four hydrogen protons into two neutrons and two protons to form one helium nucleus plus a lot of energy, light.
-
poldi2 say: It is not an explosion or a fire.
The sun, like all stars, is a nuclear fusion reactor. No oxygen required.
