The year 3000 compared to 2012

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-06-30] [Hit: ]
Now look between the year 1700 and 1800. Another 100 year span, but nothing that revolutionary happened. Look at the year 500 to 600. Again, even worse than 1700 to 1800.......
what will people living in the year 3000 think of the year 2012? will they be so hightech that 2012 will be like midevil times to them? what do you think?

Look up "the singularity" by Ray Kurzweill. Technological advancement speeds up exponentially. For instance, in roughly the last 100 years we have developed powered flight, left our planet and visited our moon. We have split the atom and built computers. Now look between the year 1700 and 1800. Another 100 year span, but nothing that revolutionary happened. Look at the year 500 to 600. Again, even worse than 1700 to 1800.

So we expect that in the next 100 years, we will make progress many more times as impressive than the 20th century. Kurzweill believes that within 30 years, technology will be advancing so quickly that we will not be able to make meaningful predictions about the future since the changes will be too rapid and shocking for us to understand their impact on the near future. He calls that the singularity.

We'll be inferior, idiots to them. The only contribution we may have that's useful is hydro-electric motors and vertical takeoff...

Probably the same thing as you in 2012 think about the people of the year 1024!

Care to tell us?
