How deep would a foundation need to be for a mile high skyscraper

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-09-21] [Hit: ]
Is a skyscraper this tall even feasible?-Every foundation design is different, as it depends on the material the foundation is set in.Manhattan Island is mostly bedrock which is why so many skyscrapers are built there. In that case, you dont need as deep a foundation.......
The Burj Khalifa is around 2,700 feet tall and supposedly has a foundation of 160+ feet deep. How deep would the foundation need to be for a 5,280 foot tall skyscraper? Is a skyscraper this tall even feasible?

Yes, a 5300 foot skyscraper is possible, that is less than twice as high as the present record. The limitation would be cost.
