Is Hawaii's Time 6 hours ahead of Canada Or 6 Behind

The websites are confusing me,

Hawaii is WEST of Canada and the Main Land, there for it is behind.

Canada has 6 time zones, the west coast is 2 hours ahead of Hawaii, while the east coast is 6 and a half hours ahead of Hawaii

The time zone in which the cities of Toronto, Montreal and Québec are located is 6 hours ahead of Hawaii

Therefore, in all cases, Hawaii is behind Canada

The sun rises in Vancouver, BC = West/Pacific coast, about 3 hours before it rises in Hawaii. The sun sets in Vancouver. BC about 3 hours before it sets in Hawaii. Seven hours, I think for Nova Scocia and Labrador. I'm also confused about ahead and behind. Neil

Hawaii is 3 hours BEHIND the west coast of Canada, 6 hours behind Montreal and Vancouver, 7 1/2 hours behind St. Johns, Newfoundland.

Time gets earlier as you go west, and later as you go east.
