I used the graph of the equation to find the solutions and I don't think I'm correct. How do you find the solutions without using the graph? Can you please show your work or explain how you got your answer so that there are no more confusions? Thank you!!

-
x^2 + 12x + 20 = 0
x^2 + 10x + 2x+ 20 = 0
x(x + 10)+ 2(x + 10) = 0
(x + 10)(x + 2) = 0
x= -10 or x=-2

-
x^2 + 12x + 20 = 0

factor the quadratic...simple !

(x + 10)(x + 2) = 0

solve...

x = - 10 or x = - 2

check...this is too easy...read your textbook...practice.

8==D

-
(x+6)(x+6)=16

(x+6)^2=16

x+6=4

x= -2
