How do i transpose n when t=a+(n-1)d

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-05-26] [Hit: ]
......
the answer is n=t-a+d / d.... but id like to know how they have got to this point and what steps were done please

-
( n - 1 ) d = t - a
n d - d = t - a

n d = t - a + d

n = ( t - a + d ) / d

I think you're looking to solve for n.

t=a+(n-1)d

Subtract a and divide d we get

(t-a)/d = n - 1

Add 1 and you get

1 + (t-a)/d = n
