P(M,Y)-1.there are 8 total letters. 2 are E and 1 is T. that means that 3 out of those 8 cards will be an E or a T. 3/8 is the answer.......
The letters G E O M E T R Y are written on a set of cards. you mix the cards thoroughly. without looking, you draw one letter, replace it, then draw another. Find each probability.

1. P(E,T)
2. P(M,Y)

1. 3/8

there are 8 total letters. 2 are E and 1 is T. that means that 3 out of those 8 cards will be an E or a T. 3/8 is the answer.

2. 2/8 or 1/4

there is 1 M and 1 Y, so 2 out of the 8 cards are M's or Y's. 2/8 simplified to 1/4 is the answer.

it would be 2/8 multiplied by 1/8 which would give you 2/64 (1/32)

then it would be 1/8 multiplied by 1/8 which would give you 1/64

all you have to do is just find how many of those letters appear in geometry then you find how many total letters there are and multiply it
