so for an answer i got -1/5 and -23/5 and thats not any of the answers choices so i must have made a mistake somewhere...help?

i just got -1/5 and -3
so you solve it down to
l5x+8l= 7 (by subtracting 4 from both sides)
then you set the expression within the absolute value bars to positive and negative 7
(only showing the work for -3 since you got the other solution)
5x+8=-7
-8 -8
5x=-15
divide by 5
x=-3
(sorry these aren't very detailed but i figured you know how to solve equations you just needed the work ;) )
