I got this answer 1-log[5](8)

means

log[5]1 - log[5]8

5 to the what power = 1?

0!

therefore, log[5]1 = 0

so it's just -log[5]8

log[5](1) is 0,...since 5^0=1

so your answer is -log[5](8)
