How to solve: |x-2|=2x+5, havin a brainfart :/

keep getting different answers

                  |x-2| = 2x+5
                   x-2 = ±(2x+5)
                      x = 2±(2x+5)

  x = 2 + (2x+5)   OR   x = 2 - (2x+5)
  x = 2 + 2x + 5            x = 2 - 2x - 5
  x = 2x + 7                  x = - 2x - 3
-7 = x                         3x = -3
  x = -7                        x = -1

Checking  x = -7 and x = -1 in the original equation,
we find that -7 doesn't work.

                        ANSWER
                            x = -1
