It says to write this equation in "y-intercept form." Not sure what that is?
-2x + 3y = 9. Thanks for your help!

y-intercept form is

y = mx+b

Where m=slope and b=y-intercept, which is where the line crosses the y-axis.

You can also Google “y-intercept form” and get a lot of useful information.

So y-intercept form for this equation would be:

-2x + 3y = 9

3y = 2x + 9

y = (2/3)x + 3

Need any more help just ask!

"y-intercept" or "slope/intercept" form is a linear equation of the form y = mx + b.
Where: m is the slope of the line, and b is the y-intercept (because the equation crosses the y-axis when x = 0, and the mx term becomes 0).

We have to isolate the y and bring it to the left side:

− 2x + 3y = 9
3y = 2x + 9
y = (2/3)x + 3

Now looking at this equation, we can very quickly find the slope (2/3) and y-intercept (3) of this line.

-
y = mx+b

y-b =mx
mx/x =(y-b)/x
m = (y-b)/x

b=y-mx

y-b =mx
mx/m = (y-b)/m
x= (y-b)/m

y = 2/3 x + 3
2/3 = (y-3)/x
3=y-(2/3)x
x=(y-3)/ (2/3)

-
3y = 2x + 9
y = (2/3) x + 3
