Average rate of change of f(x) = 5x^2 - 4x from 1 to 2

-
Avg = (f(b) - f(a))/(b - a)
f(x) = 5x^2 - 4x
f(1) = 5 - 4 = 1
f(2) = 20 - 8 = 12
Avg = (12 - 1)/(2 - 1) = 11

-
You are always welcome Sir.

Average rate of change=(f(b) -f(a))/(b-a)

a=1 and b=2

Average rate of change=(f(2)-f(1)/(2-1)

f(2)=5(2)^2-4(2)= 12

f(1)=5(1)^2-4(1)= 1

Average rate of change=(12-1)/1=11

-
average rate = f(2)-f(1)=...
