now think what two number multiplied equal twelve and add to make 8
guess and check:
12 x 1 =12 but 12 +1 =13
2x6=12 2+6=8 so this works now thats only half the battle.

next you make a square with 4 boxes or a square with a line coming down the middle and across the center=4boxes.
top right box contains ax^2 lower left contains c
in the two diagonal boxes you put 2x and 6x from the diamond.
so it is set up like this:
2 <----left over when x was taken out of the top boxes
first think what you can factor out: x |x^2|2x|
----------
|6x| 12|

next do up and down: x can be take out leaving the top part looking like x+2
the x taken out from earlier-------> x |x^2|2x|
-----------
when x is factored out 6 is left over 6 |6x|12| this leaves the left with x+6

(x+6)(x+2) is the factorization of x^2+6x+12

i know this is probably really confusing because i cant actually show you but just practice.maybe google how to use a factorization diamond and box

I'll just do an example.
X^2+7x-44
Do a times c to get -44.
So you need to get 2 numbers that add to 7 and multiply to -144
So u end up with
(x+11)(x-4)

Hope this helps
