How do you solve the algebraic equation 2.26=1+x/1-x

2.⇔ 2.⇔ 2.26 - 2.⇔ 1.26 - 2.......
I know this is like a super simple algebra problem but for some reason i have no clue how to do it. Answer is x=.387. If you could explain that'd be great. Thanks so much.

I assume you mean:

2.26 = (1 + x) / (1 - x)
⇔ 2.26(1 - x) = 1 + x
⇔ 2.26 - 2.26x = 1 + x
⇔ 1.26 - 2.26x = x
⇔ 1.26 = 3.26x
⇔ x = 1.26 / 3.26
⇔ x = .387

Be careful with your notation: without parentheses, what you wrote really means 2.26 = 1 + x - x.
