(a) If m1 = 11.8 kg, m2 = 23.3 kg, and m3 = 30.5 kg, calculate the magnitude of the acceleration of the system.


(b) Calculate the tension T1

=>T2 = (11.8 + 23.3) x 1
=>T2 = 35.10 Newton

a) F = ma --> T3 = (m1+m2+m3)a --> a = 65.7/65.6 = 1.00 m/s2

b) T1 = m1*a = 11.8 N

c) T2 - T1 = m2*a --> T2 = m2*a + T1 = 23.3 + 11.8 = 35.1 N
