We never went over how to do these types of questions, so a little explanation would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If both sides are base 4, you can find the antilog of each side. Raise 4 to the power of each side, which "cancels " the log.

Then 4^ [ log4(2x-1)] = 4^[ log4(16)]

2x-1= 16

2x=17

X=17/2

Hoping this helps!
